Access to Information Act (Act 2
of 2000) requires that all
public bodies compile a manual
giving information to the public
regarding the procecure to be
followed in requesting
information from that body for
the purpose of excercising or
protecting rights. |

Procedure for requesting access
to information |

If you wish to access
information, you are required to
complete a request form. The
form is available from the SAHRC
website (www.sahrc.org.za)
or from the Department of
Justice and Constitutional
Development website (www.doj.gov.za) |

Please note that a prescribed
fee is payable in advance for
requesting and accessing
information in terms of the Act;
there may also be additional
fees prescribed for searching
for and compiling the
information, including copying
charges. Details of the fees are
in the Information Manual. |
